Washington Health Benefit Exchange Seeks Feedback on 2022 Draft Standard Plan Designs; Comments Due Dec. 29

On November 30, 2020 the Washington Health Benefit Exchange opened the public comment period for the 2022 draft standard plan designs as required by the authorizing legislation for Cascade Care. The Exchange seeks feedback on the following for each draft standard plan design (i.e., bronze, silver, gold):

  • “Do the draft standard plans meet the goals of the legislation to reduce deductibles, make more services available before the deductible, provide predictable cost-sharing, maximize subsidies, and limit adverse premium impacts?

  • How do the draft standard plans compare to plans currently offered through the Exchange?

  • Do you have any concerns about changes being made to the standard plans from the 2021 design to 2022?

  • Do the draft standard plans provide the appropriate basis for the public option plans?

  • Do you have concerns about any of the features of these draft standard plans?”

Additionally, the Exchange recommends commenters review a PowerPoint presentation from the November 17, 2020 meeting of the Plan Certification Workgroup for additional context and information prior to commenting. Comments should be submitted to standardplans@wahbexchange.org and are due by December 29, 2020.
